Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find a suitable therapist?

It is always worth checking with a potential therapist their experience and qualifications.  You also need to find out if the way the therapist works is right for you.  A lot of therapists offer a free first consultation so that is a good way of meeting the therapist and asking any questions you have.

Which therapy is best for me?

As we are different and have different needs, it is our job to make sure that your treatment is unique to you. We may use one or a combination of techniques.  These may be classified under the headings of Direct Suggestion, Analytical Hypnotherapy, Counselling, NLP Coaching (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).

This will be discussed with you in the first free consultation.

What is NLP?

NLP is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to produce the results they do.   A key element of NLP is that we form our unique internal mental maps of the world as a product of the way we filter and perceive information absorbed through our five senses from the world around us.

How many sessions will I need?

With some problems you can make huge improvements that bring positive benefits simply through 1 - 3 three sessions and with other problems up to 6 – 9 sessions may be needed.  It is important to recognise that every individual experiences therapy in their very own personal way and some people will require more sessions than others to address a similar issue.   It is therefore difficult to know how an individual will respond before therapy takes place and for us to know exactly how many sessions you will need.

Is therapy with Clarity confidential?

Every session is confidential and usually lasts 60 minutes at a time. The content of all session is confidential, with the following exception: if we consider that you may be in danger to your self or to others, we will, if possible, gain your permission for any disclosure we may feel necessary to make.
